a cut above

In 1825 there was no barber mentioned in a directory of the shops and trades in Colne. It seems that there was one 5 years earlier, who thought rather at lot of himself, and aimed not just to get the discerning gent in need of a trim into his chair, but working folk as well. He also claimed an ability to bring London hair fashion to little old Colne!
